Why Your Foundation Matters
Your feet are the foundation of your body.
Just as a building depends on a strong foundation for stability, your body relies on healthy, properly supported feet.
Each foot contains 26 bones, 33 joints, and 19 muscles that work together to support every step you take.Â
Â
Over time, years of standing, walking, sports, pregnancy, weight changes, injuries, and everyday life can place stress on your arches.
As that foundation changes, your ankles, knees, hips, and back may begin to compensate.
Â
The 4ArchFits custom fit arch support system is designed to support all four arches of the foot, helping maintain your foot's natural position and promoting better movement throughout your day.

Understanding the Four Arches of the Foot

Most people think of the arch along the inside of the foot, but your feet actually contain four arches that work together like the framework of a building.

Each arch plays an important role in supporting your body's foundation by helping provide:
-
Stability
-
Balance
-
Shock absorption
-
Efficient movement

When one arch becomes weakened or unsupported, the rest of the foot and eventually the body may begin to compensate.
The 4ArchFits custom fit arch support system is designed to support all four arches together, helping create a stronger foundation for everyday movement.
The Four Arches of the Foot
1. Medial Longitudinal Arch
(The Main Arch Most People Know)

Located along the inside of the foot, this is the highest and most visible arch. It plays a critical role in absorbing impact and supporting body weight during walking and standing.

Functions:
-
Absorbs shock during movement
-
Supports body weight
-
Helps maintain proper foot alignment
-
Assists with balance and stability

3. Transverse Metatarsal Arch
(The Forefoot Arch)
Â
Located across the ball of the foot just behind the toes, this arch helps spread pressure evenly throughout the forefoot during movement.
Â
Functions:
-
Distributes pressure across the forefoot
-
Supports proper toe alignment
-
Improves comfort while walking
-
Helps reduce excessive pressure points

4. Transverse Tarsal Arch
(The Midfoot Arch)
Â
Located across the middle of the foot, this arch helps maintain the structural integrity of the foot and supports overall balance and movement.
Â
Functions:
-
Supports foot structure
-
Improves balance and coordination
-
Assists with shock absorption
-
Promotes efficient movement patterns
Your four arches work together as one complete support system.

When one arch begins to weaken, the others often compensate. Over time, this may contribute to:
-
Plantar fasciitis discomfort
-
Foot fatigue
-
Poor balance
-
Instability
-
Reduced shock absorption
-
Uneven weight distribution
-
Changes in posture
-
Stress on the ankles, knees, hips, and back

By supporting all four arches, the 4ArchFits system helps create a stronger foundation for healthier movement and greater everyday comfort.

What You'll Need
One sheet of standard 8.5" × 11" paper (or a larger sheet if your foot extends beyond the paper)
-
A pen or pencil
-
A ruler or tape measure (in inches or centimeters)
-
A flat, hard floor
How to Measure Your Feet
To ensure your custom-fit arch supports are worn correctly, please follow the steps below.
Accurate measurements help us create the best possible fit for your feet.
Step 1: Position Your Foot
Place the paper on a hard, flat surface against a wall if possible.
Stand with one foot centered on the paper.
Â
Make sure your entire heel and your longest toe are on the paper. For the most accurate results, keep your weight evenly distributed on the foot you're measuring.

Using a pen or pencil, make small marks at the following points:
-
The tip of your longest toe (often the big toe, but not always)
-
The very back of your heel
-
The widest point on the inside of your foot
-
The widest point on the outside of your foot

These four marks will be used to determine your foot's length and width.
Step 2: Mark Your Foot

Using a ruler or tape measure:
-
Foot Length: Measure the distance from the heel mark to the toe mark.
-
Foot Width: Measure the distance between the two widest points of your foot.
-
Record both measurements for each foot.
Step 3: Measure Your Foot

Step 4: Measure Both Feet
Feet are rarely the exact same size. Repeat the process for your other foot and record both sets of measurements.

When completing your intake form, enter the measurements for your left and right foot separately. If one foot is larger than the other, we'll use those measurements to ensure the best fit.

Perform your measurements while in a standing position.
Ensure you are wearing your standard everyday socks for the best fit.
Track your size during the evening when feet are typically at their peak volume.
Verify all dimensions carefully before you finalize your intake submission.
Â
Getting the Best Results
-
Wear in supportive athletic shoes during the adjustment period.
-
Begin with 30 minutes on Day 1.
-
Increase wear by about one hour each day.
-
Allow your body time to adapt.
-
If discomfort continues after 3–4 weeks, contact us so we can evaluate your fit.
-
Every foot is unique your supports may need a resize or adjustment.
Helpful Tips

Why Every Person Needs a Custom Fit?
Your feet are as unique as your fingerprints. No two people have the same foot structure, lifestyle, or daily demands, which is why a one-size-fits-all insert can't provide the personalized support your body deserves.
Â
Whether you're a nurse working 12-hour shifts, a healthcare professional constantly on the move, an athlete training for peak performance, or someone simply looking for greater comfort, your feet experience different stresses every day. Factors like age, occupation, footwear, pregnancy, weight changes, previous injuries, and years of daily activity can all influence your foot's foundation.
That's why every 4ArchFits Custom Fit Arch Support is individually measured and custom-fit to support all four arches of your feet. By providing personalized support based on your unique foundation, we help promote better alignment, improved stability, greater comfort, and more confident movement throughout your day.
Â
What Makes a Custom Fit Different?
-
Personalized measurements based on your unique foot structure
-
Support for all four arches not just one
-
Designed to fit your lifestyle, occupation, and footwear needs
-
Available through a quick in-store fitting or convenient online ordering
-
Created to provide personalized support that generic insoles simply can't match

Because not all feet are created equal, your support shouldn't be either.

Proper foot support can influence much more than just your feet.
Because your feet serve as the foundation of your body, supporting all four arches helps promote stability, balance, and natural movement throughout your entire kinetic chain.Â

Rather than focusing on a single area of discomfort, the 4ArchFits system is designed to help support your body's foundation so you can move with greater confidence every day.
